R.A. Long boys baseball team beat Selah to earn the opportunity to play in the Washington State 2A title game today against W.F. West High School (Chehalis). R.A. Long grad Scott Betts ('90) was recently honored the 2009 Chief Will Bachofner Award. The award is given to a Washington State Trooper that excels in eight different categories. See The Daily News story here.

School Transfers
The Daily News recently featured a story regarding the disparity in student enrollment numbers between R.A. Long High School and Mark Morris High School (front page on April 28, 2010). This is an excellent article that starts to dig in to the widely held perception that "Mark Morris is a better school". We all know that isn't true.
Next Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
The R.A. Long High School Hall of Fame Committee has announced the next Induction Ceremony. It will be held Friday, March 18, 2011. This is a change from the previous late Fall inductions. The committee felt that a Spring ceremony would work better for the inductees and their families and friends as there would be little holiday travel.
Nominations for the R.A. Long Hall of Fame are open (Nomination Form). If you know of someone that should be in the Hall of Fame, please fill out the form and return it to the Committee.
Bluewater Comics Creator Visits RA Long
Darren Davis, creator of Blue Water, comics visited R.A. Long High School April 21, 2010. Davis spent the morning showing students how to create and sell comics. See The Daily News story here.
