Because of our lingering spirit of pride in our alma mater, the R. A. Long High School Alumni Association wishes to provide financial and altruistic support for the current wants and needs of the school, and to foster fraternity among its membership through social and service activities.
RAL Students Tackle Teen Suicide

RAL Freshman Sherod Nichols
The Daily News has a front-page profile of R.A. Long High School freshman Sherod Nichols. Sherod has a serious and rare form of cancer that prevents him from being involved in a sport that he loves: football. The RAL varsity football team has made every effort to involve him.

2008 Annual Meeting
The Association will once again have our Annual Meeting on October 28, 2008 at 7:00 pm. The meeting will be held at R. A. Long High School in romm 115. Elections for Officers and the Board of Directors will be held at this time. We encourage you to attend this meeting.
The regular Board meeting will be held immediately after the conclusion of the Annual Meeting.
RAL teacher named "High School Teacher of the Year by the Washington Science Teachers Association".

Buck Hammer's Hall Pass Recovered
The Alumni Association has recovered Hall of Fame teacher and coach Buck Hammer's Hack Paddle "Hall Pass". Legend tells that it was stolen sometime in 1958 or 1959. It is a mystery as to where it has been for the last 50 or so years.
