The Daily News featured a story on the installation of permanent seating at RA Long Baseball's Lumberyard today.  Elden Alexander has been working for many years to improve the Lumberyard.  The Association is pleased to have contributed to this project.

RAL Baseball will be having a fundraising auction March 24.  The Daily News article has details on how you can participate in the auction.

The RA Long High School Science Olympiad teams were recently featured in The Daily New.  The article discussed the two RAL teams preparing for the Regional Science Olympiad at Lower Columbia College.  The event will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012.

RA Long and Mark Morris high schools have both recently installed camera systems to monitor activity in and around the school.  The Daily News recently featured the cameras at RAL.  RAL Principal Rich Reeves is shown operating the resolution system.  The article states that the cameras were largely paid for by Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) grant secured with the assistance of US Senator Patty Murray.

The R.A.Long High School Alumni Association Annual Meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25th at R.A. Long High School.  We will meet in Room 115 (downstairs near the door to the science wing).  This meeting is open to anyone who attended R.A. Long High School or anyone who embraces the goals of this association.

R.A. Long High School and Mark Morris High School have harmonized their senior project programs.  The Daily News has an excellent front page article summarizing the changes to the senior projects.

The Daily News recently featured the seventieth reunion of the RAL Class of '41 in "Remember for All".

We recently learned that RAL alumnus Paul Laufman ('56) delivered a graduate seminar lecture at Washington State University (WSU) on Thursday, December 2, 2010. Laufman's lecture was entitled "Rocket Propulsion: Space Policy and its Entrepreneurial Impact." Laufman helped found United Paradyne Corporation (UPC) in 1995 and retired as Chairman/CEO in 2004.

Longview's annual Go Fourth celebration is coming up soon. If you'll be in Longview July 2 through July 4, please stop by the Alumni's booth at the Lake. We'll have lots of cool things to buy (hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, pens, ...). We'll also raffle some of the goodies. Everything helps us support R.A. Long High School.

The 2010 / 2011 R.A. Long Knowledge Bowl team earned second place in the 2011 State Championship held March 26, 2011 in Richland. The Knowledge Bowl team finished ahead of local rival Mark Morris in the three team final.
