The R.A. Long High School Hall of Fame Committee has announced the next Induction Ceremony. It will be held Friday, March 18, 2011. This is a change from the previous late Fall inductions. The committee felt that a Spring ceremony would work better for the inductees and their families and friends as there would be little holiday travel.

Nominations for the R.A. Long Hall of Fame are open (Nomination Form). If you know of someone that should be in the Hall of Fame, please fill out the form and return it to the Committee.

This category seeks to recognize "Notable contribution to R. A. Long High School and prominent in their professional, personal, and inspirational achievements. This category includes a coach, pioneer, administrator, teacher, graduate, or supporter. Candidate is not required to have participated in sports or activities nor attended R. A. Long."

This category seeks to recognize "Outstanding achievement by a varsity level team in a single season."

This category seeks to recognize "Notable achievement by an individual in a sport(s) or activity at the varsity level."

Next Induction Ceremony: March 18, 2011.

R. A. Long High School established a "Hall of Fame" in 2005. The first inductees were the 1981 Washington State Girls Basketball champions. Winners of several other awards, including the Wally Whitted Award and Marlen Petersen Award, were automatically inducted into the "Lifetime Achievement" section.

The Hall of Fame seeks to recognize outstanding people associated with R. A. Long High School. The Hall of Fame hopes to attain this goal by honoring members of the R. A. Long community in the following areas:

The 2009 R.A. Long Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held Friday, December 4, 2009 at 5:30 pm. The ceremony will be held at R. A. Long High School in the Auditorium.

R. A. Long High School will have the induction ceremony for 2008 on at 5:30 pm December 5, 2008 in the R. A. Long Auditorium. See the Daily News story here.

It's that time of the year again: the 2008 Hall of Fame nominations are open!!
If you know of an R. A. Long graduate who was an exceptional athelete, was the member of a championship team, or has had significant life or professional achievements then fill out a nomination form. Members of the community that make significant contributions to R. A. Long are also eligible. Nominations close on April 30, 2008.

R. A. Long High School will have the induction ceremony for 2007 on at 5:30 pm November 30, 2007 in the R. A. Long Auditorium. See the Daily News story here.
