Because of our lingering spirit of pride in our alma mater, the R. A. Long High School Alumni Association wishes to provide financial and altruistic support for the current wants and needs of the school, and to foster fraternity among its membership through social and service activities.
RAL Students Featured as Young Authors
Two RA Long students, Sullivan Carter and Jane Forman, recently had articles featured in The Daily News. Both stories appeared in the "This Day" section on March 29, 2010.

RA Long Knowledge Bowl Qualifies for State Championships
The 2009-2010 RA Long High School Knowledge Bowl team has qualified for the state championships. As the Daily News article notes, this is an important achievement in a year in which reduced school budgets forced the Longview School District to eliminate funding for Knowledge Bowl. RAL Grad Wilbur Fix Promotes Book
RA Long graduate Wilbur J. Fix (1945) was recently in Longview to promote his first book, "Go to the Edge of Disaster". Mr. Fix eventually served 12 years as CEO of The Bon Marche. See The Daily News article about his visit.
RAL Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
The 2009 R.A. Long Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held Friday, December 4, 2009 at 5:30 pm. The ceremony will be held at R. A. Long High School in the Auditorium.
RAL Student Article Featured in the Daily News
R.A. Long student Jane Foreman's article featured in the "Young Journalists of the Lower Columbia Region" program of the Longview Daily News.

RAL Principal Starts First Day of Classes
Principal Rich Reeves started his first day of classes at R.A. Long today. Mr. Reeves is a Lumberjack alumnus ('86). The Alumni Association is pleased to welcome Mr. Reeves back to RAL and we wish him the best of luck. See the Daily News story here.

RAL Theater Troupe Going to Scotland
Members of the Dana Brown Mainstage Theatre will be travelling to Scotland soon to perform in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
